Fellowship and Interaction

Springdale’s Fellowship ministry team helps builds community by promoting social activities and hospitality and by exploring ways to strengthen genuine Christian fellowship. The following groups are involved in doing just that!

F.O.S.S.I.L.        Current FOSSIL meeting

The FOSSIL group (“For Operational Senior Souls in Leisure”) consists of church members, 60 and above, married or with significant other, who meet at designated restaurants every month to share dinner and fellowship.    Everyone who meets the above criteria is welcome to join.  There are no offices, no dues, no responsibility -just “meet, greet, and eat”!   All you have to do is RSVP.  Check the calendar for meeting details.

Monthly Dinner Group         Current month’s social dinner

If you like to eat dinner out with friends, old and new, this group is for you!  This group chooses a restaurant and meets one evening each month.  Check the calendar for this month’s meeting.

Young Adult Group                              

The young adults in the congregation meet monthly to eat together.  The food is fabulous and the friendships built can’t be surpassed. Check the calendar for this month’s meeting.

Mature Men

Mature men – senior adult men - gather for lunch to socialize and spend time with their friends. The Mature Men’s Group has grown from a handful to 15 to 20 men getting together on the even months at Olive Garden.  Some in the group either live alone or are not able get out easily. Transportation is provided for those unable to drive.  Check the calendar  for meeting dates, times and places.

Men’s Breakfast                    

Men’s Breakfast is a fellowship group for men of all ages that meets at 8 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month (unless it’s a holiday – New Year’s, 4thof July). Men take turns preparing breakfast and leading discussions on religious, ethical or current topics. The meeting concludes by 9:30 and a $3 is requested.  Proceeds have been used to buy new tables for the fellowship hall and a new staff computer.  It’s a great opportunity to enjoy a delicious breakfast, engage in lively discussion, and become better friends with those you see in church.  Check the calendar  for this month’s meeting.

Men’s Softball

If you are at least 16 years old and male, you are invited to join the Springdale Sluggers.  Men’s softball has provided a unique form of fellowship and ministry for more than two decades.  The team’s main goal is to provide a place of ministry for “un-churched” non-members and active members to share fellowship in God’s Glory. Our competitive spirit sometimes brings wonderful excitement and crushing disappointment.  But the experience encompasses more than wins and losses.  Everyone is welcome to cheer on the team at Watkins Field on Monday nights, May-August.
