Music Ministries
If you love making a “joyful noise unto the Lord,” Springdale has a music group for you. You may have a vocal or instrumental talent to share. Whatever the reason for joining one or more of our music groups, you’re sure to come away feeling renewed by the experience. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself humming our practice music during the week – a constant reminder of what God has done for you during our time together.
Springdale offers many opportunities to be actively involved in music ministry which leads the congregation in worship, enhances our fellowship, and reaches out to the community. This ministry continues to evolve under the leadership of our interim music director, Philip Ingalls.
If you have considered being part of Springdale’s music ministry, this is the perfect
time to join one of our groups. There are no auditions or prerequisites for participation in any of Springdale’s music groups – just show up for one of the rehearsals. If you have any questions, contact Philip at the church – 425-1760.
Choir and Praise Team
The Choir and Praise Team lead the congregation in music in worship.
The choir, open to all, regularly provides an anthem and a choral benediction. It also provides special music at other times of the year, especially at Christmas and Easter. A mini- retreat in August kicks off the year while building a sense of Christian community through recreation and the simple joy of singing God’s praise. The choir rehearses each Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the choir room.
The Praise Team combines joyous singing and instrumental music to help lead worship. From upbeat arrangements of traditional hymns to contemporary Christian music, the singers are joined by piano, keyboard, drums and other instruments to praise God. In keeping with the casual feel of the service, each singer uses a microphone and leads congregational while lyrics are projected on screens. The Rehearsals are held at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays.
The Choir kick-off is from 9:30 – noon Saturday, August 20, to begin rehearsals for “Prayers of the Nations” which will be sung in the worship service on September 11.
Instrumentalists
Instrumentalists are invited for participation in “Prayers of the Nations” on September 11, 2011. If interested in playing for this service, please contact Philip to get a score for your instrument. Rehearsals will be scheduled in coordination with participating players.
Handbell Choir

Music Friends
Open to 3, 4 and 5 year-olds and kindergarteners, Music Friends is a fun and friendly way to introduce music and worship leadership to children. With an emphasis on connecting the music to Bible stories and the Christian faith, children play games, move about, sing and play simple instruments – forming a foundation for a lifetime of participation in the church.
Music Makers
MusicMakers is the choral group for children in first through fifth grade. Children learn the music and voice fundamentals while having fun with church friends.

Youth Choir
Youth who are interested in being a part of a choir are invited to contact Philip Ingalls philip@springdalechurch.org.
