Stewardship opportunities
Stewardship is bigger than a church budget, and wider than an offering envelope. It also encompasses the way we live our lives – including our generous support, our regular study, and our active service. Our membership are stewards in many ways.
Annual Stewardship Creating a Culture of Generosity
A special team of elders and other interested persons is prayerfully and actively seeking ways make stewardship a year-round part of our life as a congregation. An important part of growing in faith through giving, will be a time of stewardship emphasis in the fall of each year.
Time and Talents
Everyone has a talent. Give some of your time and share your God given talents and gifts by serving on one of the following ministry teams:
Building and Grounds, Mission, Spiritual Nurture, Worship, Congregational Care, Membership, Fellowship, Communications, Finance, and Personnel. Serve as a part of one of the music groups – Chancel choir, Praise team, Hand bells, children’s choir(Music Makers) or instrumental accompaniment.
These ministry teams provide opportunities for generous giving of your time and talents in many different ways.
Sign up during the ministry fair in January or call the church office 425-1760 during office hours anytime.
Wills and Bequests
One way to support Springdale’s ministry is to include the church in your will or to give to the Memorial Fund “in lieu of flowers.” You may also wish to consider giving through The Presbyterian Foundation.
Endowment Fund and Milestone Gifts
Springdale Presbyterian’s Endowment Fund has two goals: to provide long-term support for Springdale’s ministry and mission and to generate annual income and working capital for the church. Gifts may be made in honor or in memory of a friend or loved one or through a bequest. The Endowment Fund is administered by Endowment Fund Trustees elected by the congregation.
A Milestone Gift is a recognition of God’s blessings and grateful response for personal or family milestones: birth, baptism, graduation, new job, recovery from an illness, wedding, anniversary, special achievement, or a delightful life surprise. Milestone gifts are designated to the Endowment Fund and can be made by sending a check with “milestone gift” on the memo line, or by donating a tax refund, stock or bond gain, “found” money, or portion of an inheritance. Unless the gifts are anonymous, the endowment trustees name the milestone gift donors and their honorees in our communications.
Memorial Fund
Springdale’s Memorial Fund receives donations given to honor the memory of individuals who have died or to honor other persons. Memorial fund trustees administer this fund and distribute grants as approved by the Session.
Special Projects
Special giving opportunities are held as needed for special needs or projects. The Rock the Boat campaign was created to provide funds for the budget and to create other funds for ministry.
